VERSE THREE:
"Blessing (praise, laudation and eulogy) be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Messiah, Who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual (Holy Spirit given) blessing in the heavenly realm!"
WOW! I really like this verse. It holds such promise, doesn't it? But before I get to the "me" stuff, let's focus on the "HIM" stuff.
After Paul greets the saints at Ephesus, he immediately extols the Sovereign. He gives us a one-line biography so to speak. He entreats us to recognize a blessing to God and names Him as the Father of OUR Lord Jesus Christ, Who is the long awaited Messiah. Then...
...then Paul relates exactly what He has done for us through the Holy Spirit. He has given us every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm. Now I don't know about you, but I'm sure I haven't discovered all the spiritual blessings that make up "EVERY" one in the heavenly realm.
So the way I figure it, there are many more to come than the multitude I could list right now. Our Father has already blessed us in Christ with these blessings. And we may or may not be aware of all of them. But since every good and perfect gift comes down from the Father, I'm sure they are more than wonderful to consider. Considering that every blessing is already IN Christ, I'd say we have a bunch we aren't even aware of, wouldn't you? What a thing to dwell upon instead of heartache, pain, strife, and negativity.
EVERY spiritual blessing. EVERY. Do you happen to know where we could get a list? selahV
I believe this has something to do with finding every blessing (new and old to us) in Christ. Knowing and experiencing Christ is the real blessing, since it involves the operation of the Trinity in our lives and hearts. Well, maybe. I'm pontificating, but I might be on to something. I am convinced that every blessing we have as Christians is to be found in Christ, though.

Byroniac: yes, that is how I see the blessings too. They are being IN Christ and therefore having everything He IS, in and of Himself, we own each attribute. Think?

Just happened to meander over here today. "Every spiritual blessing" is powerful - wow! I don't think we need a list. He is giving us...HIMSELF - His life for our life. He's giving us everything He is.
