Are they?  I think so.  The previous comment thread on the Sovereignty of Saul leads nicely into another stream of questions for me.  Can you take a minute and share one experience that answers the following?:

How do you see the Sovereign hand of God in your life at this time? What circumstance can you see Him working out via a situation you are going through?  Can you see the past trail that led to the present?  selahV

Did God ordain Saul to be the adversary against Himself before having the meeting on the road to Damascas?  selahV

IN ADDITION:  I was asked if this question was an "out of the blue thought" or based on some scripture.  I posted a piece on SelahV Today that stirred my mind to the question.   And so in a sense, it was an "out of the blue thought".

I thought about how Joseph's enslavement was "meant for good" while his brothers meant it for evil.  But I've never thought about Saul's actions being meant for good.  In God's Sovereignty, would He have ordained Paul to do what he did?

Maybe it's like all sin...though Paul thought he was doing right when he did what he did to the body of Christ.  "Saul, Saul why persecutest thou me?" comes to mind.   Was that rhetorical like "Where are you?" was to Adam and Eve?  selahV
