"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6
Interesting, don't you think, that the "government" shall be upon his shoulder...a tiny babe? But Isaiah prophesied 400 years before our Lord was born that the government would be upon his shoulder. Ironic that it plays out even unto this day... that our government is upon His shoulder through we who serve and love Him. HOWEVER...
Jesus was born, died and rose again to live and defeat death. He will one day rule over the entire earth with total peace. Jerusalem will be new and all things evil will pass away. Because Isaiah also said, His name encompassed "the MIGHTY God, the everlasting FATHER, and the Prince of Peace". THAT, my friends, leaves no stone unturned, no excuse or rebuke unanswered.
Today I am grateful to know Jesus, the Son given whose name is Wonderful, Counselor. His counsel has indeed been wonderful for me, my family and the world who chooses to accept His forgiveness of sin and receive Him as LORD, then follow Him.
Praying you have a blessed Christmas Day. May God convict those who do not know Him to come to Him and receive His grace and mercy and love.
