Nations do fall. America is perilously close. Consider the words of Dr. Adrian Rogers:
“You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.”
What must we do in our country to change the course of foolishness it is following?
"If MY people, who are called by MY name, will humble themselves and pray and seek MY face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14
God isn't telling those who do not call Him their God, to humble themselves and pray and seek His face and turn from their wicked ways. NOPE. God is telling we who are called by His name-- we who call ourselves Believers, Redeemed, Sanctified, Righteous, Justified, Regenerated.... US. We need to fall on our knees and recognize we NEED Him. Our knowledge. Our intelligence. Our cleverness. Our manipulative ways. Our maneuvers. Our strategizing. Our best oratory. All is worth nothing. It is prideful to even conceive that we can fix the brokenness in our land:
the evil.
the rebellion.
the arrogance.
the greed.
the bigotry.
the hatred.
the immorality.
We cannot legislate healing for America. We need to fall down and ask God to heal our land. Lord, break our hearts, destroy our pride, and bring us to You. May we trust in You and not ourselves. selahV
