I've been reading the comments in various blogposts this week. Every now and then, I jump into the stream, splash around a bit, cool off and tip-toe back to shore. I pat myself on the back and say, "Whew! I'm glad I'm not like that person."
"I don't speak disparagingly of another."
"I'm not arrogant."
"I'm not insulting."
"I'm not condescending."
"I'm not bitter."
"I don't drink."
"I'm not struggling with sexual perversion."
"I'm not divisive."
"I don't think I'm better than anyone else."
"I'm not prideful."
"I'm...uh,"
"I'm...not...
so...bad."
"Woe is me, O, Lord."
"God be merciful to me a sinner."
Without Your precious blood outpoured for me...
Without Your mercies, new every morning...
Without Your sacrifice, and obedience unto death...
Without Your love for Your Bride....
Without Your grace, dear Jesus, where, oh, where would I be?" selahV
