It was suppose to be the warmest day of the week. But we woke to a clouded, chilly day. I'd promised the girls a picnic trip to Wichita Mountains. We layered ourselves in sweatshirts, hoodies, sock caps and scarves. We didn't pack a real picnic lunch--just crackers, water, and cantaloupe slices.
Riverview Restaurant fed us loaded potatoes, popcorn shrimp and salad. As we sat at the window seat, overlooking the stream, the sun finally popped through the heavy cover of clouds.
We got excited. We finished our meal and headed down to the stream to feed the geese and take pictures. The longer we stayed at the stream, the warmer it got. But the time we got to Mt. Scott, temperatures were a brisk 60.
Before the day was over, we'd been thoroughly blessed by the creation of God.
