When I was listening to President Obama's blah, blah, blah about Republican Scott Brown's historically stunning victory over Democrat Martha Coakley in Massachusetts this week, I couldn't help but shake my head. For one thing, I wasn't impressed with the casualness in which he described the American voters in Massachusetts. But when the President of the United States of America, who claims to be a Christian, used the name of God's only begotten son, Jesus, in a slang sort of way, it grabbed my gut. He talks about the Quran as the "Holy Quran". He bows to the Saudi King, and removes his shoes in the Muslim Mosques. He's been reported to carry a carving of an Indonesian god in his pocket for luck. But Jesus? Well, I guess He's another matter, huh?
I'd thought about bringing this up the day it happened but other things were on my mind that day. Then, today, I happened upon a new blogger from another one I frequent, and the new blogger, ClayTablet, jogged my memory of this "be-jesus" comment by our president. He did some more research and to be honest, I think we all ought to call the White House at (202) 456-1414, and suggest that he fire the speech writer who put that word on his teleprompter. Surely, President Obama wouldn't make such a slanderous remark if he knew what it meant. Or would he? selahV
