brings one opportunity after another.
Every challenge is a test of all we are in every way... physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. The challenge doesn't make you or break you. It simply shows what you're made of. Dr. David Jeremiah puts it this way:
"Challenges don't make you what you are, they reveal what you are."
We have challenges we face with grit and wit. We have challenges we face with forethought and discernment. And we have challenges we face with all the resolve we can muster. But the outcome and results of each challenge is determined by all we are-- not happenstance or luck. Not wishful thinking or goals we seek to attain. Each challenge carries its own reward and each person who meets the challenge must find within themselves the desire and will to achieve the impossible or improbable.
I'm facing a challenge that calls on me to dig deeper into God's Word. It's easy to take out a bunch of commentaries and search out the meaning of a verse, the words in the verse and then the history and content of the verse. The thing that gets down to the nitty gritty is living with the verse or passage. The truth we learn must be applied to grasp the depth of its meaning-- to get it under our skin and plant it deep within our spirit. We need God for that. We need faith to step forward and not sit still and worry about the outcome. No matter what challenge we have in life, we need the power of God to get us through it and the grace of God to endure it. I have found the value in memorizing specific verses so the Holy Spirit can remind me over and over again when I feel weak or faithless or just plain scared.
In no particular order: "Fear not, for I am with thee." Isaiah 41:10 "The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me." Psalm 138:8 "I will keep you in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Me." Isaiah 26:3 Hope in Him instead of fearing the circumstances. Trust in Him instead of worrying about the circumstances. Focus on Him and all things will pass away in His presence. Then....Praise Him for His faithfulness. selahVtoday
