Ever been faced with a life or death decision? Ever know that what you do will decide your fate and the fate of all people?
Queen Esther did. She knew that if she entered the inner courts of the king without being asked, she would be killed. It was the decree. Yet, Mordecai, was not swayed with her fears. He informed her straightforwardly that even if she did not speak up for the Jews, God would raise another up to help His people. And Esther and her father's house would perish. (See Esther 4.)
"Then Esther told them to reply to Mordecai: 'Go gather all the Jews who are present in Shushan, and fast for me; neither eat nor drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will fast likewise. And I will go to the king, which is against the law; and if I perish, I perish!" Esther 4:15,16.
Would we go to the king and resign ourselves to whatever fate befell us for daring to stand in his presence? Christians in China and other countries face death with greater possiblity than we do personal rejection for simply standing with an opposing political party. What does it take for us to stand up and be counted for our Lord? Our faith. Our values? What courts are you to enter today? Who is the king who threatens your position, your welfare, your security? selahV
