Three-year-old HayJae didn't need my help with the 100-piece puzzle. She knew exactly where each cut-out went to form the group of horses. Then it happened! She had only one piece left to complete the picture. "Grama, where's the other piece?" She picked up the box cover and looked underneath. "I can't finish it!" she groaned with regret. "Where is it, Grama?" We looked beneath the table. We looked inside the box. It was not there. Finally HayJae stood up, and there it was in the seat of her chair. "Here it is!" she exclaimed, as she snatched it up and put the piece in its proper place. "Now! It's complete!"
We spend so much of our time putting our lives together. We get the right education. We find the right mate. We get the right job, and find the right home. We begin a family and work towards making all things possible for them to complete their dreams in life. But something's missing. Often we find ourselves like HayJae, looking for the last piece in the puzzle. Some find it. Others don't.
"For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power." Colossians 2:9
To be complete, Jesus must be found in our lives. We have all the fullness of God through Him. The peace, the love, the joy, the goodness, the wisdom, the discernment, the comfort, the protection. His grace is sufficient to meet our every need and more. We mustn't allow other things to become the priority over Him in anyway. If we do, we'll be like HayJae, having the picture so close, yet missing what is necessary for complete contentment. In Jesus we have the the promise of eternity fulfilled. We do not need to search for the missing piece. We have it all in Christ. selahV
