Without God we have nothing to say, because we have not heard. We cannot speak if we do not hear. We cannot hear if we do all the talking. We cannot hear if we are rebellious and disobedient. Our words are useless; they have no value--no power.
"The Lord God has opened My ear and I have not been rebellious or turned backward." Isaiah 50:5
There is no greater message than the Gospel of Jesus Christ. There is nothing as worthy of hearing. There is nothing more noble. Nothing more pressing. Nothing more valuable. Nothing more inspiring, nor ecouraging than the hope one has in the attoning work, saving power and sanctifying grace of God through Jesus Christ. We can talk about a thousand things. We can write a million books. We can give all the information from every encyclopedia or Google reference in the world. Yet it is nothing, futile, without the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
"The Lord has given Me the tongue of a disciple and of one who is taught, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him who is weary. He wakens Me morning by morning, He wakens my ear to hear as a disciple [as one who is taught]." Isaiah 50:4
As Jesus is our example, let all our conversation be such that glorifies His purpose and the glory of our Father in Heaven. selahV

I tried one day not long ago to go without saying anything that wasn't pleasing to God. Do you know how quicky I failed? So quick that I'm embarassed to admit it. The tongue is quite difficult to tame, isn't it?

Karen, don't feel bad. The Lord gave me laryngitis and I still blew it. selahV
