Hey SelahV,

What if we simply redefined the meaning of "Southern" to include anything south of the North Pole? :)

Seriously, let the Baptists who are north of the Mason-Dixon line, form their own "Northern" Baptist Convention.

Hey Richard! Thanks for dropping by. Leave it to you to think outside the box. Do you really think we could get everyone to agree on the definition change? It is definitely geographically correct. So we would have precedent on our side, huh? selahV

selahV I hope I don't disappoint you but I vote to stay like it is ? As the old saying is " It was good enough for Mama and Papa" " and its good enough for Me " !

I think that if believers or Christains are searching for peace and happiness in Our Lord should not frett over a name ? After all , on the judgement day ever last one of us is going to call it " our Heavenly Home " .

I came from a line of 4 old timey Southern Baptist Preachers from the late 1800's AND EARLY 1900'S that preached in the Northern Blueridge mtn's in Georgia just for groceries and for God's Love and mercy ?

The disagreements about changing the name SBC is for those that want a big convention to start with sort of like changing a Southern Baptist over to Mormonism ? My suggestion would be name their own convention and link it to The Southern Baptist Convention ?

I'm one of those folks that don't like a change , maybe improve what you already got ?

Blessings.
Ron.

How about "Sometimes Baptist Convention?" Or "Survivor Baptist Convention?" "Survivor Baptist Convention--who will be voted out next?" Either one allows you to keep the old letterhead and merchandising. :)

Dear Ron, you didn't disappoint me at all. Would wave my little tab of paper in the air right along with you and the rest of the majority voting I can happily report. selahV

selahV

VOLFIE! how could you? selahV

On a serious note;

How 'bout "Christ First Convention of Cooperating Baptists"

selahV

Marie, CFCoCB? Hmmmn, don't think that would fly....no convention majority is gonna tolerate cb's initials in the abbreviation of our family's name. it would be like cb's our surname. eeek. I do like your intentions, though. It would be wonderful. selahV

PERSONAL OPINION

  • IN MY HUMBLE OPINION
An opinion is something we own as ours. What we feel necessary to state publicly could become another's opinion as well. It would be good to consider how much truth is at the core of one's opinion before voicing it. Are we willing to take the time to dig to that depth before we adopt another's opinion as our own? selahV
