HOMESCHOOLERS BEWARE: If it starts in one state, it can move to yours.

With the growing popularity of Homeschooling comes the myopic eye and strong arms of Big Brother.  According to a Baptist Press article published in the Baptist Messenger here in Oklahoma, homeschooling numbers are up 36 percent since 2003.  It relates:

"A report by the U.S. Department of Education finds that the number of homeschooled children in America has risen steadily over the past five years and stood at about 1.5 million in 2007.  Homeschool experts, though, place the number closer to 2 million and say the discrepancy can be attributed to homeschooling parents being less inclined to respond to government surveys.

The report from the National Center for Education Statistics, a division of the federal government's education department, said in December the number of home-schooled children was up 74 percent from 1999 to 2007 and 36 percent since 2003." Baptist Messenger, January 22, 2009

ONE NEWS NOW reports today that the latest legislation being introduced in New Hampshire created an outpouring of protest from over 1,000 to visit Concord's capital building.  More and more the government wants to interfere with the parents authority to raise their children as they see most beneficial.  In my usual biased opinion, this is but another example of stamping out liberty and limiting a parent's control.  Let the stones cry out!  selahV
