SOMETHING INSIDE OF ME

It wants to come out.  I want to write it, paint it, shout it, sing it, photograph it!  Yet, I can't.  It remains within.

 

It bubbles over bit by bit, little by little.  If all were to come out at once I suppose it would drown another or bury them in the rapture of my joy.  God knows best to keep it ready to pop, yet not spewing forth.  God knows best to let it come in sentences, paragraphs and posts.  Daily.  As He sees fit.  To share it any other way would leave me struggling to capture and cling to that which was not mine to begin with.  Would be a selfish thing to see.  selahV

LOVE LANGUAGE AND MEN

Yesterday morning I got up and felt rather punk because of sinus problems. Hadn't slept well at all.  I didn't even get a cup of coffee till nearly noon.  My brain still felt full of cotton as I wandered out to the kitchen.  My eyes felt like someone had dumped grounds in them.  I started to pour my coffee into my favorite mug that sat happily by my brand new Mr.Coffee Maker, and almost didn't notice the yellow note on the counter.  I smiled.  Every morning hubby prepares the coffee and places my favorite mug by the coffee pot.  I kinda take it for granted it's going to be there.  This time, hubby had left me a note.  "I Love You."

Gentlemen...take note.  Love notes never grow old.  Love notes are never juvenile.  Love notes are those wonderful little things a husband can do for his wife without costing him one thin dime.  Flowers are nice.  Hand-picked wild daisies are fantastic.  But handwritten love notes say, "He had to find a piece of paper.  He had to find a pen.  He had to think of me just before he wrote this.  He had to consider where I would see it.  He actually took the time to do this before he left for work today.  Awh!"

I didn't call him and say, "I love you, too."  He's heard it from me a million times.  Instead, I made his favorite beef stew and went to the store and bought him some animal crackers.  Hey!  He loves animal crackers.  I also bought other goodies he loves to snack on--peaches, grapes, peanut butter and crackers.  What can I say?  He's easy to please.  That's part of why I love him.  It's also why I wrote, "I Love You, 2" on the bottom of his note and taped it inside his medicine cabinet.  Just in case he needs a translator for other ways I try to show him.  Just in case he needs to know I saw his note to me.  Love languages can sometimes need a bit of interpretation, ya know.  selahV 

ONLY A WOMAN KNOWS...

....HOW TIRESOME THE BACK AND FORTH ARGUMENTS CAN TAKE A TOLL ON YA.

I think that is because we deal with kids and grandkids so much.  They are the perpetual, why?  Why not?  Why?  And no matter what you say, no matter how reasonable you answer, they still come up with why.

It's kinda like the tennis matches at Wimbledon.  When the ball is called out, there ain't a bit of sense for the players to keep batting it back and forth over the net.  The ball is "out".  Done.  No points can be made from it; no advantage is gained.  And to the onlookers in the stadium, it's uninteresting and time to move on.  To carry on a conversation with a determined little mind without a prayer's chance of real discussion, is nothing more than a tit-for-tat endeavor.  Women know they might just as well throw in the towel and take a seat.  (At least this woman does.)  Such conversations with anyone remind me of the "yes-you-did", "no-I-didn't, you-did" kind of arguments my brothers use to have with one another as children.  I'm just too old for those anymore.  AND....time is too precious to waste beating a dead ball back and forth across a court.  selahV
