Ever need something and don't ask anyone for help? A car breaks down. A plumbing line gets clogged. Situations come up for which we have no answers. We struggle to figure things out ourselves. We rely on our own strength, understanding and abilities. Often this happens with our choices as Christians. We lack the wisdom needed to make a decision. We don't want to make the wrong choice, so we sometimes procrastinate and wallow in fear of making any choice.
Yet the Lord offers to us freely the fullness of His wisdom. It's a promise.
"If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of the giving God [Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him." James 1:5.
My favorite part of that verse is that God doesn't reproach or faultfind. He doesn't say, "Why you big dummy! You made such a mess of things the last time, why should I help you now?" No, he gives liberally, ungrudgingly. We ask and God gives. So why do we waver in light of God's promise? selahV
